Well, I have received the insurance money for my old 106 that was written off now, but what should I do with it?
I received £910 and have a bit of a banger of a GTI at the mo, any suggestions welcome...
-
how bad a banger is it? sell it and put all the money towards a better GTI? :)
-
agreed! except by a 16v ;)
-
You'll see some pics in Dubz projects.
Its not all that bad, but needs the seats for a three door, new rear calipers and some rust patches treated, other than that its pretty good, just need ideas on what to do with my little windfall...
-
just looked - for me, spending all the money, so say 1250 ish would get you a much much better mk2 :)
-
Would be nice, problem is, I also need to pay for snowboarding pretty quick, so may be left with more like £500, which wont leave much for me to get done
-
snowboarding holiday on 0% visa card payable over 9-12mths ;) works a treat for me every year!!
-
Argh! Dont tempt me...
-
I would be tempted to get a mint cheap low end 3 door MK2 and reshell the GTI into it if it was me :)

-
Well, I already got my mac...
I think when I get my compensation, it'll be a 16v
-
nice choice.. what mac u got.. you know a mac is the way forward! :lipsrsealed:
-
Han, I have an ibook 12" G4 and a mac mini and mac is the way forward (but just got a promotion at work and am a Windows Server 2003 Administrator.)
It looks like I'll be getting the GTI fixed up...
Got new(er) rear calipers and the handbrake works now! and I fitted my headunit in (no sub in there yet) but its a good car and the only place it would have gone is to be scrapped otherwise.
