Title: Hall Sender
Post by: Gambit on 04 November 2003, 14:02
How hard is it to change in a 16v??

had a look in the haynes and it says it jsut a case of removing the rotor arm & shaft, a dust cover & a screw to get at it

is it as simple as this??

also, what causes the hall sender to fail?

it's connected to the dizzy

fairly str8 fwd to replace

they 'go' coz they are electronic - and semiconductors failing is not un common  8)

 - make sure it is the Halls sender that is shot and not any other part of the EIS.

follow the Haynes instructions and you shouldn't have any problems - multimeters are invaluable for this sort of fault finding.

I think it is quite easy to change, the shaft is retained by a pin i think.
