Title: Suggestions for a chip/remap
Post by: Len on 28 November 2005, 10:05: Now I know my engine is strong I am thinking of a bit of tuning!

So if anybody out there has done this to their car (Chip or remap or both) Please let me know!

Oh I have only changed the air filter to a K&N - do i really need an exhaust system????

A full decat system would give roughly 10% increase in power, so if your running at 100BHP you'll get 10BHP doesnt sound alot but it is.

Remap like an Ecotek would be good, and especially if you had new cam's you'd notice it instantly.

I got my father-in-law to solder a plug in socket onto the ECU board, so i can put whatever chip in i like.
There is a geezer on ebay that is selling neuspeed chips, don't know if he does 16v or not.
Don't get a superchip, as i think they need a 'decoder' on the board, rip off merchants :laugh:

I found out about them 8/9 years ago. Then they were virtually the only people doing aftermarket chips.
Then their power uplifts where in the 15 - 20% range and a lot cheaper Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£150 to Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£200.
Now they have gone very conservative and expensive! So now you get 10% extra power at most and its Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£300 and more! They have gone Chav!
