Title: Light problem
Post by: Volkswagavin on 25 November 2005, 21:50
Got a weird one here...my LHS side light fuse keeps blowing.  When the engine is off I only get lights on the driver side.  When the engine is running I get both front side-lights and only the driver-side tail light.  When the headlights are on I still only get one tail light.  Any ideas!?  Its been like that for a while but I tend to forget about it!

Bulb?  But seriously...  a short somewhere in the wiring would cause it to keep blowing. Which fuse is it specifically that keeps blowing?  And i know its daft but when your engine is off - nothing to do with the parking light which is turned on by moving your indicator stalk one way or the other?

Nope, nothing to do with the parking light I don't think.  I just have an inoperative left side when the engine is off, the indicator stork is centred and bulbs are fine all around.  When I change the fuse the whole thing works properly until I drive through a puddle!

The puddle doesn't sound good! Not sure i am afraid...  Funny thing is last night mine did exactly the same! Worked fine until the engine was off, anyway i went to check it today and it was fine again so no help. or -  Maybe i did smoke a little too much last night.....
