hi people just got my gti on saturday http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4587176153&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 had a problem with it changed the ht leads and sorted it but it doesnt want to idle very well any ideas?
that f**kin 5000rpm rev limiter is sh!t!!

Give it a good service first thing to do with an ebay car , new plugs/filters/oil and a battery/coil test  and clean the throttle body then see if it is still causing you problems.

My 8v limiter is at 6000. :tongue: :wink:

Hope it doesn't snow you won't be able to find your car.. :laugh:

Nice car man, abit expensive though.

Take ya time with the car, the more you get frustrated the less your going to better the car. Chill man.

Hmm maybe you got a bad-un Y GTI , ive had mine 2 and a half years now , and ive only had an abs sensor go on me . [touching lots of wood ].

Bad un,it aint the word ADY lol  :grin: had 3 years reliable motoring out of mine changed dizzies,plugs leads,relays,fuel pumps,fule filters,still cutting out on me,runs alright from cold soon as it starts getting to running temperature its cut out time lol jus been out in it cut out 7 times on a 5 mile journey,cuts out wont idle or nuffin leave for 5-10 mins starts until watever it is gets warm again n then guess what??  :laugh: cuts out can be pain n embarrassing at times n dangerous,other than the 4 gear boxes a been thru a loves the car jus seriously thinking of selling it wen a finally cure the cutting out issue on it  :sad:

i only paid £1700 for it because of the problem and i cant wait to start moddin it
