Title: golf 1.6 AEE water temp sender problem......cold start issues

Hi All,

my golf struggles to start when its cold, need to keep revving it otherwise it dies , how do i check that this sender is working? is it right that thsi sender increases the fueling when its cold?

Check things like, spark plugs, card etc...

Simple things like the moisture on the plugs or distributor cap can effect it

If I was you just do a "DIY Service"

yeah done all those bits, but it struggles, two garages have told me that its either temp sender in the coolant pipe or the throttle position sensor, the TPS is about 250 quid apparently so wantto make sure its not the temp sensor.................................................
