just had a visit from my genius painter!! he was dropping off my freshly painted front bumper, again can't get a great picture of it in the house but these pics should show the idea......
for those that can't spot the changes, shouldn't there be indicators and a number plate recess?! :P oooh yeah baby i like the smooooothness!

So dont be shy tell us where you got them sprayed ... Are you doing the arches etc or ???
-
i've got a good guy who does my painting, total chance meeting but he's a legend as far as i'm concerned. i'll happily pass on his details to anyone who seriously wants work doing......
... Are you doing the arches etc or ???
the arches are already smoothed out but i've got a set of genuine g60 arches waiting to be smoothed and go on after hes rolled the arches. the eventual plan is to bit by bit respray the whole car then once the paints all sorted, put a nice laquer over the top.
i've got a list of bits i want doing, but the next thing he's doing is the rear plinth under the tailgate and cutting a sprinter vent into the wing.
it might sound like a stupid way of respraying a car but i cant afford/justify doing a full respray all at once and if it means it gets done in stages and takes longer then so be it. i'm also having the rubbing strips taken out and am thinking of audi door handle conversion...... hhmmmmm

cant wait to see it saturday, lookin good joe

ditch the front plate, you know you want too
And i feel sorry for your poor bodyshop dude if hes smoothing a 4 set of G60s, Smoothing ONE driver arch is a pain in the arse and ive only spent an hour on it this morning before work!
Looking good tho dude

the plate is removable, and most of the time will be a german style one but got to wait til i see jv at the rr day.
and your a pussy! i smoothed my whole body kit off once before, doesn't take long! are you sure your doing it right?
-
Doing it the hard way. No filler, Smoothing it all by hand. Might be somthing todo with me only having 800grade wet n dry paper. Gonna pick up some harsher stuff on the way home tonight.
-
don't you use high build primer? much much much quicker and probably get a better finish anyway?
-
(trying not to hijack your subject. But yeah thats one way to do it, But rich did mine by smoothing them down by hand, He also shaped the differentally by smoothing out the crease so its more of a rounded look. Ive just smoothed down the new arch and put on a top layor of primer, Only taken me three hours now (almost). Simply used 200 (i think) Wet n dry to smooth out all the crap then used some 400 and 1200 wet n dry to smooth it all down, Then layor it with plastic primer. Next ive got another coat of plastic primer, then regular primer and its all set for the bodyshop to do the rest )~
Anyway, back on topic. The bumper looks good
