I have found the side water housing on the engine is leaking very slightly, can I just seal it with some type of sealant? or is it a bigger job?
-
You should be able to take it off and put some sealant round it. I think it should have an o-ring seal already, that may be knackered.
-
Is it a black plastic housing?, if so check for cracks in it as they are prone to cracking. New ones are not dear.
Steve.

Cheers '6.
Mk1 - the leak is coming from where the pipe goes into the engine block, I am guessing its just a seal gone.

Mine leaks but how can i cure this? (the part pointed out) It leaks where it is attached to the head and ive tried to tighten it with no effect.

Take the elbow piece off, clean it up , check it isn't cracked, then replace the o-ring seal.
-
Is the O ring easy to replace? How much from VW? ???
-
Simple job, exactly as vr6 says. O ring sould only be a few pence.
-
Mine is leaking from just round the right hand side of Blue mk2 pointer. Its a similar size pipe going in to the engine.
