Title: steering out of control

I own a 96 gti 8 valve ,the other day went around a bend and lost all power steering,going a bit quick frighten the sh!t out of me.it has happen very intermittently since then. checked level and belt tension all is fine.Decided to change the power steering oil ,just wondered if any body knows how much G2 power steering oil i need.also if this doesn't cure it what is the common fault pump or rack for power steering failure!!!!!!.
no leaks found around pump!!!!.

If all else fails replace the pump, as this far more likely to fail. Have you checked for leaks?

Anything else happen at the same time ?

Its not an electrical fault is it ?
