Title: MK2 bootlid catch striker plate bush ???
Post by: lostplanetj on 11 November 2005, 15:54
MK2 91 GTI, as i go down the road the bootlid catch is rattling (highly annoying)
have been i touch with local VW dealer and he can get the new striker plate but not the bush.
is there an alternative to tank tape, where can i get a bush?
my next step is to try heatshrink but i dont think thats going to last long either, and then of course the local breakers.

cheers

on the tailgate there are two little black rubber things, wind them out a bit that should stop it.

tried the adjustment thing but, its the catch actually moving and taping the plate pin where its loose and wornout.
the tank tape stops it so i guess its a mod like the pipe thing, cheers

i'd just go to a scrappy and get another one. to be honest i've never heard of one wearing out enough to make it rattle.
