How easy it is to fitted eibach spring on my mk4 gti golf ?
Do i need special tools ?
;D
-
You will need spring compressors for sure.
-
Other that spring compressors, the job is pretty straight foreward. Rears are easy peasy, Fronts can be a little trickier. The top mounts can be awkward to remove as you need to modify a socket so you can fit an allen key through the middle!!!!!!! Make a good diferrence though once fitted. Might want to fit uprated shocks as well as the standard ones are'nt up to the lowered springs!!!! Will find that the ride becomes "Bouncy" Hope this helps. cheeRS, Kev.

If the mk4 set up is like the mk3 then try using a spark plug socket with a spanner and an allen key through the middle.
-
tried that on mine, had to drill the center of the socket out to fit the allen key(7mm) and after undoing the top getting the strut of the hub carrier was a right sod, make sure ya get wd40 on there a few days before!, spring compressors yep deffo, im still running standard shocks and they havent gone bouncey yet! will change when they do, this has got to be the 1st mod any one does on a mk4 cause they arent much cop with out being stiffened up!, back end was mega easy about 15 mins per side,
-
The backs are easy on mk4? pain in the arse on mk2 and mk3! The ride will probably not go bouncy as the springs control that, what will happen is the ride will get harsh when the shocks are knackered.
-
The backs should take no more than 15 mins for the pair. Just jack the rear end up, drop the shocks and the whole lot dangles!!!!!! Peasey
