right i need tips on getitn these driveshaft bolts out as all of them seem to be rounded off
just my luck
but i need the driveshafts out to replace them
as they are vr6 shafts and i need to put my gti ones in
mole grips wont work either
-
First soak it with wd40 then wack a splined socket slightly smaller over the bolt and yank it off   (got that tip off VR6)
if that wont work then get yourself down the gym sweet'art
-
cut them off and buy new ones.
-
sure your using the right tool?? Sometimes they are not hex bolts.
-
any1 got a pic of the toll i shud use because surely all the bolts cant be rounded off
but its the only one that fits feels tight when i put it in the bolt
once i start to try undo the bolt it just turns
-
its a torx bit tisn't it?
-
mine were torx heads, some are hex heads, i have also heard of some of them being Star heads.
I think the majority of them are torx heads though so try using some of them first.
-
but bear in mind if you've had a go with an allen key you've probably f**ked them up anyway....
-
i aint used a alan key
used a torx bit i think
sort of like a star
but the bolt looks like it has more little points on it
-
I got a funny feeling mine are allen bolts, not torx?! :undecided:

Star bit:

Pretty similar but the star one has slightly more teeth than a torx.
