Not sure if im a fan just yet but may be swayed if you ditch the m3 mirrors and use some back to black so that they all match.
-
nah i like the mirrors, plus they were free, and yes all will be black, that was the shoe dye comment, im told its better than back to black, the other side is black as i had enuf polish for only one side, it looks abit like a beard while its grey
-
i think it looks pretty cool. good job.
-
Looks good, except for the mirrors, sorry! Get some Kiwi Scuff guard on all that plastic!
-
i got a driver too! whats the diff between them n normal bumpers?! i'd go and looka t my car, but its raining and i just done my hair...
-
^^ he's got big bumper arches, skirts etc on a small bumper car!!! :P
-
 no-one likes my mirrors.... whats wrong with my mirrors?
-
Sorry, I dont like them either. Just dont look right on a mk2.
Like the big arch/small bumper combo tho, looks a bit different!
-
The mirrors just look out of place. There too round for a square car. They are also a bit chav now as all the corsa chavs have em. Painted origionals are much better mate.
-
hmm, it seems a trip to the scrapyard is in order,
i give in, its the chav comment that did it,
-
right, its all black now, all i need its some mirrors,

Looking good dude! (but you forgot to black the front spoiler?!) :nerd:
Next you gotta deck it to the weeds... winter is here so modify it to snow plough? Hey...hang on...i could make some money with that!!!
-
i got a driver with standard small bumper trim, and im puttin big bumpers on will it look crap!?
-
Nah, look at photo of mine, thats a Driver. But i got big bumpers and ive put the 90 spec side skirts, door strips, and arches on (like Haribo).
-
nah i polished the front spoiler too, its just the light reflecting, its actually shiny,
its lowered 40, im gonna go for 20 more some time next year as ive only just lowered a month ago, im pretty much done for now, apart from im goning to get some standard mirrors and paint em
-
Glad you came to your senses.
Looking good by the way. Doesent look like a beard anymore.
-

-
haha, drugs??? i dont even drink! :nerd:
-
looks diffrent , i think i like it tho... nice job (everyone was right about the mirrors tho, they kinda sucked lol
Jet
-
arches look kinda cool cos they are different but the mirrors?????looks like you just drove through halfrords abit taky for my liking same as those dtm mirrors.sorry dude but i think geneuin are best.auto glym bummper care is wicked stuff it puts the oil back into the plastic as oppos to the rest that draws it out which is why after a week of back to black it all goes white!lol
-
ah i remember you, im sure i bought my wheels off you, yeah agreed, i have just paid for a nice set of standard gti mirors and theyll be here shortly and i have spray paint waiting for them :nerd:
-
Good lad!
-
i got a driver with standard small bumper trim, and im puttin big bumpers on will it look crap!?
nah i had big bumpers with no 90 spec gti sills etc, looked fine, but saying that i prob would of but them on if i had the funds/the energy to do it!
-
be careful when painting these mirrors cos the actual plastic is very rich in oil!so even with plenty of key primer and paint they may well still flake or bubble and once theyve done that you just have to either chuck them or keep painting them!which isnt good cos the cost a few quid!
-
shoe polish then  , that way ill still get a nice black shine, cheers for that
-
good news about the mirrors. Glad to hear youv come to your sences!
-
how did you fit these?
-
the only way they fit? the arches are held on with self tappers(and screws in some cases) and then the sill extensions stick to the existing sill with the mounting kit, and thats it really, because of my small bumpers i had to alter the very front parts of the door trims as they were abit too long and needed to fit flush, and then theres the front spolier which i had to cut up quite abit and then tie string to the ends and then under and up the engine bay abit to hold them flush to the arches, masive bodge job but you cant really tell now its done,
-
quality! i love it when a bodge is successful! so rewarding!
-
where did you get the arch fitting kit from??
Tim.
-
^^ german and swedish or volkswagen. for some reason you can't buy pattern parts of this so for what they are i think they are quite expensive. well at least that was the case last time i bought one a few years back.
-
mounting kit was from GPC
-
thanks!
-
cost me about 60 quid mind,
-
£60?!!!
I went down a scrappy and bought a complete 1990 VW Jetta 1.6 TX for £20! i towed it home and robbed the sills extensions and arches, front bumper, complete front end, wheels, and every spare i could. The sill extensions and arches are same as Golf.
-
yeah but you need all the clips and i had none and the mounting strips were all snapped so i had to replace it all, aint no jettas or 90 spec golfs in the scrappys round here :(
