Title: Mk 3 Alloys...NEED HELP! :o~
Post by: LBManiac on 07 November 2005, 01:34
I recently bought a 1.4 mk3 for my first car

Someone has said they have a set of 4 stud alloys 17" that should fit...

I'm not too sure whether they will fit or not so I would like to know how everyone else has done with alloys?

Of coures I will check them on my car but would like to know if anyone has had any major problems with this kinda thing?

I need alloys badly as my car is looking real sleek but the wheels are like standard VW Steel wheels and look b'locks!

Please help!!!

nah, the base models are 4 stud. you need to check what offset the wheels are and also the centre bore size if they have come from a non-vw.
what width are the wheels? you may catch the rear plastic arches (if you have them) and go too wide

you want about a 7 - 71/2 inch wide wheel 205 40 17 tyres and et of around 35- 40 ,plus your centre bore is 57.1,and you should get away with it not catching ,

your cars looking good, look forward to seen it finished
mines on 15in bbs winter wheels at mo so doesnt look as good as it did
im thinking of removeing the arches like youve done
problem is someones painted front wings without takeing arches off so ive got a big line in the paint
see youve been buying again with the vr6 which u got
think i would put that engine in yours if i was you ,or you will regret it
