Title: sunroof setup

I have a problem with the sunroof on my 1990 8v gti.

when i got the car it would only tilt and not slide.

If you get someone to push down it would then slide but was very stiff.(lack of use i suppose)

According to the haynes manual there are adjusters, so i removed the sunroof and then the fun and games started trying to get it back together was a nightmare.  I think the diagram is only for a sliding roof.
So now my roof only slides and wont tilt?

The explanation in the haynes manual is poor, can anyone shed some light on how to set it up, or could someone supply a diagram of the tilt and slide assembly.  if so email mark@bridgeend5.fsnet.co.uk

I didnt' think they sold a Golf as standard with a Tilt and Slide sun roof  ???

nope, if you have a tilt & slide then you have an Audi 80 sunroof in yours, common modification
