Cant see any reason why not!
As for an improvement - no idea! I would have thought they were all the same - but never looked.

I had instructions for my mk4 look headlights and it said for non gti models use the bridging thing included i think this is because they have different bulbs hence the gti has the twin look but not 100%sure it was a while back. Also gti might have electic headlight adjusters but the GL doesnt and still look the same

Gti headlights have two 12v 55w bulbs in each headlight, so should be twice as good as the single bulb standard ones on main beam. They use the same mounting points so will fit, but I don't know how you adapt the wiring. The adjusters are not electric on mine.

My GTi doesn't have electric headlight adjusters either. The VR6 my mate bought last week does however .

Yes MK3 GTi lights will fit a standard MK3 I had a driver and changed mine the lights were sooo much better. VW also added as standard gti lights to the 1.8 version se. and the late gl's and tdi's.
Plus they look soo much better than the fish bowls that adorn the standard MK3
