I have just bought a mk3 gti and i am thinking if replacing the old batterd 15"s with some 17"s.
Ive been told by a mate who works for "motor sport wheels" in bristol, that if they are more than 7.5" wide then they will rub! This pissed me off because i want to lower the car at least 40mm too.
Is this true and will i need to get the arches rolled?
-
:sad:HI YES ANY MORE THAN THAT THEY WILL RUB I HAD AUDI TT RIMS ON THEY RUB SO HAD TO HAVE ARCHES ROLLED BUT THEY DO LOOK THE NUTS
-
yes they will rub if you go any bigger than 7.5
and also the tyres must be 205 40 17
my car is lowered 60mm and the tyres catch sometimes

im on 17" with 8" width and run coilovers and it touches a bit ,
but that means its just low enough
