Title: which wheels?
Post by: ...joe on 31 October 2005, 22:37
well its that time of year when the BBS come off and get cleaned over winter...... have decided i'm putting my wider rear wheels on the front and getting even wider ones built up fot the rears. thats one of those boring winter jobs! but anyway as the BBS are away the avez's i picked up off ebay went on. totally change the look of the car in my opinion...

...what do you all think?

posted this in the vw related section but just wanted a bit of feedback..... so far it seems 50/50 as to which people prefer.

Your BBS wheels are cmint, but i am sure your winter wheels will do a job for you, still think you should paint the centres black on you azev's!

At least when you get back to putting on your bbs wheels in the warmer months it will be like having new wheels again! wish i had the option to swap wheels, all i have got is my RA's! I am on budget you see!!

I prefer the bbs ones. The others looks very slightly chav being 5 spoke, bit plain too. My opinion! dont all jump me at once!

Im also swapping my wheels over this weekend. Taking the Design 90's off for a re polish and paint and putting on the steel G60's on for the winter.

I like the summer wheels best but im a black bbs fan. However the azevs look class for the winter and if it keeps the bbs' lookin sharp for the summer then uv done the right thing!

Are those Azevs 15's joe? They look a bit small, think Azevs need to be 16's to look right, plus I love your bbs on your car, stick with them!!

On a side note, if anyone should want a set of 16" Azevs I might know where some are for sale!!!

The BBS look the dogs down belows IMO, I'm not too keen on the AZEV's but if they stop the BBS's getting knackered over the winter it'd be worthwhile .

I've been thinking of putting my old 15" DTM ( multispokes) on for the winter but I'm so used to having the 18's on that I think it's going to look a bit weird  :undecided: ( mind you, some peeps probably think the 18's look too big  :undecided: but wtf I like them )

P.S.  not sure of the long range weather forecast but might get some snow tyres as it's a pain getting stuck if it snows , I used to have a 1275 GT mini that I had a set of snow tyres just in case but only got to use them for 1 winter out of 5  but it was great when it did snow
