well... as a few of you may remember i got my lovely 1.6 driver on the road in june this year after buying a right-off! cars been running sweet as, but i had identical dents in both of my rear doors. Had 3 dent companies come out and look at the car, and none could remove the dents. So my thoughts turned to new doors!
Ok, so after my lil bros recent trip to a local scrappy resulting in a wing mirror inside panel, a leatherr gear gaitor and a fiesta steering wheel all for £1 i thought me and him shud go back and check this scrappy out...
I was wanred to put old clothes on, so i put me trackies on and me trainees. We get there and its an absolute mud-pit. So the clothes im wearing ain't really old/scrappy as i don't have any, so i got my nice clean adidas stan smiths on :( clean for all of two seconds.
We're greeted my Englands dirtiest little man - his eyes looked in opposite directions, (i don't think hes ever had a wash) he points us in the direction of the VW's (other end of huge yard) and sends us on our way with a grunt. so we come across the cars, and they're piled 2 high on top of each other, so me and my lil bro set to lookin at whats available...
so as we're clambering through the cars we come across all sorts, loads of mk1 &mk2 only one mk3  so after a lot of pondering we discover a vw golf gti 5 dr that is same colour as mine, with reaar doors intact  majorly happy.... and also a full set of big bumpers intact on a 1.3 ryder...
so after a swift phonecall from my dad who told m i was stupid in wanting bits for car etc etc etc put the phone down in a huff and told my lil bro to get the bumpers off.. and that i was having the lot as on the way in the guy had said £100 and he cudn't do any better...
so my lil bro sets to on the rear bumper with no problems, and i spend ten mins on the phone to gibby as i needed opinions... with evil looks comin from my bro for gasssin soo long (women do that) i have to make a few other calls as the front bumper was a bit awkward.
After an unanswered call to sellers and dizzie, i tired monza... who said... "they just slide off" ha ha... so he explinas to my lil bro what to do, and within 2 mins they're slid off and next to rear bumper... one challenge accomplished!!
ok.. now onto the doors... this car is sat on top of another, precarously balanced so we speak to the blokes about gettin it lifted down (they were having lunch and smoking joints - so two of them came out to push the car to rotate it so we cud get to one side to start with... so bob's stood on 2 wheels reaching up unscrewing the bolts and yours truly (who actually had really dirty hands ) is stood under door holdring it up, with my arms fully stretched out holding onto the door... so after we get the door off we found oout we forgot to undo the central locking... so the door gets fastened back on again and then we finally get it off... trot back into little grubby office to ask the guys if they can push the car the other way to get to the other side ( they push them by hand) so they push the car only for the back windscreen of the car to go through anf the car fall back... i start stressin cos i really want my doors....
safer option... the guys lift the car down weith a crane then we take our doors and bumpers out to the car... forgetting i was only in the driver... hmmm... was only meant to be browsing now...silly me... so after 10 mins the car is loaded and my bro is sat in passenger seat with it the furthest forward it can be, (he's 6ft1) and we drive home...(the car looked as though i'd been rallye driving... as some lorry had driven thruthe muddy puddle next to me! so we get home, and fit the new doors between me n my bro, thre was a lot of "hannah hold it still" "for f***s sake" and hannah - left... OTHER LEFT " going on, and a lot of piss taking.." hhold it there... down a bit (1mm) whoa! hold it... (the door was already fastened on, and he's got me holding it)
so now im a very happyu girl... need to spray my bumpers at some point soon and then get them on the car! all i need now to complete my life is a cabriolet, and possibly a man!
