ive got 16's on at the mo but i want 17's on there is it alot of work or would they go straight on
-
Been lowered? If yes, prob not. If no, why not?
-
YEA ITS BEEN LOWERED , WHAT WORK WOULD NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE I CAN GET THEM ON WOULD RATHER DO IT NOW BEFORE THE RESPRAY
-
Prob rolled arches mate. Can't see you'd need to get the metal chopped though unless they're a lot wider than the current ones...
-
shouldnt think youd need to do much but u sure u dont wana just drop it more and leav it with 15/16s? just my opinion but i think too big wheels look odd on a mk2. got any pics for us?
(theres a reason to do it now-prove me wrong!)
-
would actually depend on wot kind of drop you have...i have 17s on a 40mm drop on the cab and is ok...just no tight turns..
Dinx
-
really dinx? yours are 17s? i take my last comment back then! suppose its all about how they fit in the arches
-
yer hun...dont worry...a few people have alot to say about 17s on mk1/2...but i do actually think mine suit..but if we all liked the same...life wud be well feckin boring!
n you can see in sig how she sits on them wen lowered..
Dinx

-
ta hunny..cabs are the way forward dont ya know..
ul only get away with a 40 drop like...as bazzer said, any lower and you will need to mod the arches-just so were back on topic..
Dinx

thanks dinx
-
lol no you carry on , will get some pics up when its light tomoz cheers all
-
mine's lowered -60mm on 17's.
I had to have the lip rolled away when they were fitted or they rubbed like buggery
-
I had 17s on mine for a while with a 55mm drop. It only scrubbed on full lock and evry bump i hit, and when i had more than me in the car, and when my dog sat on the back seat, and when i brake heavily, when accelerate heavily....... come to think of it, it scrubbed near all the time!
I sold the 17s and now sat on sweet polished/black 15s!

Hi,
Sorry ive got no pictures yet but my mk 2 has wide 17's with a 65mm drop which needed about an inch or so cutting out of the front wheel arches, but i still get full lock with g60 arches on and no scraping. The back arches needed to be rolled a little bit if you want passengers!
-
you could always roll the lip up into the arch rather than cut it off. it leaves a edge if you cut it off which could damage your tyre.
-
If you roll it up, it leaves a rain gutter (water trap) doesnt it?
