Title: Golf Mk1 Audi 20v conversion?
Post by: tommyjj on 28 October 2005, 10:28
hello folks...

Anyone know if there is a company in the uk that can carry out an audi conversion in a golf mk1 chassis?

I heard something about voodoo motorsport but their website appears to be down...

Anyway, I made this in a 3d package a while ago and can now afford to make it a reality

... or something like it anyway

cheers

That looks sweet.
Although I'd wonder if that would be too low for normal road use.

I presume you are talking about putting the 1.8 Turbo 20v engine in it?
If so there are plenty of companies:
Try: http://www.designadubs.com/conversion.html (http://www.designadubs.com/conversion.html)
or Storm: http://www.stormdevelopments.co.uk/EngConv.html (http://www.stormdevelopments.co.uk/EngConv.html)
or TSR: http://www.tsr-performance.com/

thanks guys...

that's exactly what i was after...

do you know whether these conversions include the brakes (with abs) and traction control?

i heard from a mechanic a while back that there is a firm (i forget who) who will fit the engine and brakes etc, and also supply the car with an audi remote central locking key that works...

stay away from Designa Dubs if I was you.
Go with Voodoo as their conversions are the best. they'll go that extra little bit further to make it special.
I'll get his phone number if you want to chat to voodoo

jbsautodesigns will cost about 7k for a drive in drive out conversion of a 20vT.  Not sure if that includes brakes uprated though.  :undecided:

thanks for the number dizzie, i'll give voodoo a buzz when i've sorted out what i want...

model is made using 3d studio max - (I'm an architectural illustrator by profession) - incedentally, i can make models of any car and wheel combination... which is quite usefull for seeing how wheels look on cars before you buy them... if anyone wants it done and then send me pictures of car + prosective wheels and i'll try to knock something up in my spare time

tommyjj, there's a child board in the cosmetic section for virtual mods, most people use photo shop but having something like your pic above would be cool, it might be an idea to put a thraed in that section if people wanted to take you up on your offer. If you do I could make it sticky so everyone will see it.
