Reads:
17608 (P1200)--Unknow Trouble Code
16684 (P0300) Random Missfire Detected
16688 (P0304) Cylinder 4 missfire
Does this mean i need a new coil pack or something?
Anyone have this trouble before?

what engine code is it ? AGU/ARZ/AUM ?
-
AUM
-
aye probably a coilpack then, maybe swap it with one from another cylinder then clear the codes, see if it re-appears on that cylinder ? if not then might be an injector problem.

nice tip there
chers Topher ill see ''wag1'' tmro

there was a recall in the U.S, but not in the UK.. an AUM will be out of warranty now but they might make a contribution of you push for it... assuming it is the coilpack failing that is

I rang VW and they couldn't do my coilpacks on a recall as it was pre 2001, anything after 2001 they will make a good will gesture and replace as they have identified a problem. According to my local VW dealer

I ended up going to VW and buying a new one. Had to walk it but lucky they are only a few doors down
Was the coil in the end and it split in two! Lucky i managed to pull the other half out with pliers or i would have been f**ked
Total cost: £28.36p
Thanks for your help people
