Could someone look at obdeleven to see if the golf gti 7.5 can have the steering changed to comfort permanently please?

I'm a disabled driver and use a driving knob, but i'm finding it a bit heavy now, i spoke to my vw dealer as it's going in for a service/mot and they said they've never heard of this and i need to contact a vw specialist lol/wth   :smiley:

i've asked google ai, and it states it's in

1.Through tools like VCDS or OBDeleven, a programmer can go into Module 44 (Steering Assistance), bypass the active drive modes, and switch the Characteristic Curve of Steering Assistance strictly to Comfort. This change is permanent and will not automatically reset when you switch off the ignition.

doing it through the mode button only gives me normal/sport options.

Sorry if I miss the point, can you not simply select what you want in individual mode?

It will be the same on a 7.5 as it is on a 7.
Where are you located, you may have someone local who can do the coding for you...

Hi. Before any coding it's worth trying Individual mode with steering set to Comfort. See if it stays like that after you switch off and back on. On some cars it remembers, on some it doesn't. If it doesn't stick then coding is the way. I'd look for someone local with VCDS or OBDeleven Pro. The owners clubs usually have a list of people happy to help for a coffee. Whoever does it should save the original coding first so it can be put back. Good luck with it.
