My alarm siren isn’t working on my 2010 gti the part number is 1K8951605 cobra  can I fit 1K0951605c Bosch

Yes, it should work. The 1K0951605C Bosch siren is effectively the later replacement for the older 1K8951605 (Cobra) unit used on Mk5/Mk6 platform cars. VW superseded the earlier 1K8 part numbers with the 1K0 versions, and they're listed as interchangeable.

Just make sure the connector is the same (3-pin) If your old siren has failed, it's usually because the internal rechargeable battery has leaked and damaged the circuit board, which is a very common Mk5/Mk6 issue

Thanks for your reply your right I cut open the old one and the battery’s leaked I’ll order a new one of the Bosch ones thanks again

Iirc the replacement i got for mine last year was 1K0 951 605 F
Cost over £200 and the stealers said it replaced both versions.

Just a wee reply to say got a 1K0951605C siren and it work great the car is 2010 and I’ve had it for 15 years it doesn’t get used much now I’m retired it’s more of a hobby still as standard as the day it was made and  still love driving it

That's great to hear, hope you continue to enjoy it for many more years. I have kept my Edition 35 almost standard. I have just replaced the multimedia system to something more in-keeping with today's needs and added a nicer OEM+ feel spoiler addon and rear defuser. Other than that, it's standard.
