Am I right in assuming that this no longer works in the UK if (like mine) car could only use 3G which is now disabled?

So I really hope the website/app would prevent me from buying it now if that's the case.

I still don't get how my dealer knows when my car throws a warning light if it's not connected to some network somehow.  Last time was a month ago when I'd disconnected the battery - after I reconnected and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree (as it does) they were on the phone to me plus an email saying they had detected an 'unusual service event' and I should book it in.
