Title: Skinny wheel brush recommendations?
Post by: Exonian on 30 March 2026, 18:21
Owing to the imminent demise of my geriatric wheel woolie - are there any recommendations of a thin wheel brush that’ll fit through the very small gap between mk8 calliper and wheel barrel?
After using wool for many years I’d like to give microfibre a try as I have a thick Meguiars brush that does a really good job but won’t fit in the calliper/barrel gap.

been using this with the 19'' estorils, quite happy with it, fits in said gap just fine.  Last I bought kind of loosened up after a couple months, got a new one for free so no complaints there. I like the texture, real smooth compared to other brands.

Funnily enough…   That’s the exact same brush as I use to do the rest of the wheel barrel and even after about 6 or more years it’s holding up well.
Unfortunately it won’t fit in the tiny gap between Clubsport/R calliper and wheel inner.

Thanks for the suggestion though candywhite, appreciated  :smiley:

How about this one @Exonian;

I’m assuming the larger brush is in the pictures so you can see how the skinny one compares to it. I’ve not got one so can’t vouch for how good it is but I do have one of their microfibre bendy wheel brushes that I find very good for cleaning the reverse side of the spokes. I also use it for the wheel barrels. Sadly, the bendy brush no longer seems to be available.

I stumbled upon Ashfield Valeting’s website by accident a few months ago and have bought a few of their products; the bendy wheel brush, the Cosmos ph neutral shampoo which foams up really well even with hard water and a little goes a long way - smells nice too; like tropical fruit :smiley:, the luxury microfibre wash mitt - good quality and it’s holding up well to lots of use - I find it better than lambs wool mitts too. I’ve also got some of the Aqua Sheet rinse aid but I’ve not used it yet.

The products I’ve bought seem to be good quality and very competitively priced. I’ll be buying from them again when I need more products.

Oh, and they have a discount code; returning5AVS should give you a 5% discount of the website prices.

Ahh, lovely! Thanks SR, that could be just the ticket. Compressed size 1.5cm so I’ll go measure the gap shortly to see if it’ll squeeze through  :smiley:
