do new tires need to be fitted by dealer/authorized workshop? would think that DCC needs to be calibrated so it's not simply changing tires, would assume this needs specialized equipment.

DCC is just suspension. Various ways of doing it for various cars (magnetic particles in the damper fluid, stepper motor controlled valves, etc) but they don’t need calibration (if you change the damper on one side you should also do the other, but that’s the same with any suspension). You can swap wheels, tyres, anything you like, and they will still dampen the ride the same way, you might just notice a difference in feel from stiffer/smaller sidewalls if you change tyre compound/size.

that's good to hear, i was dreading the day i had to visit dealer for tire change since last time i talked to them, they quoted 30% over the price i always get by my tire guy for Michelin PS5s.
