Hey, has anyone tried to fit an 8.5 SW to an 8 to delete the horrible haptics? Bolt on, bolt on and code or does it not work at all?
Thanks
-
Not me. I actually have no issues with the haptics and prefer them.
Why do you dislike them so much to the point where you want to change?
-
I find I use the bottoms a lot and know my way round the non haptic version without looking, the haptics are just a bit of a faff and not as accurate when using without looking
-
Fair enough and I understand what you mean about pressing intuitively. I guess I don't use them that much to be concerned by this.

You don’t need to swap the entire wheel. The buttons are a straight swap. No coding required.

Thanks both, game changer!!!!
I've been looking at CS's for a while, 8.5 are nice but still ££ so a slightly older 8 CS with normal buttons would be perfect :)

It's not nearly as bad as one press guy wrote about (and every other lazy journo copied) but swapping them out is possible as described above. Personally I'd not bother.

Thanks, I test drove one a while back and obviously didn't live with it but wasn't a massive fan. I use then constantly in the 7.5 for cruise and audio, I'm happy with the swap, genuine parts and can swap back if needed :)
