Title: Door LED for alarm and interior alarm monitor deactivation switch not working
Post by: mattaps on 21 January 2026, 16:29
Hi all,

I've been the proud owner of a 2013 Golf GTi for about 4 months. About a month into ownership I noticed that both the alarm LED in the driver's door stopped functioning as did the interior alarm deactivation button in the pillar between the two offside doors. The latter still illuminates white, but it no longer turns yellow and works when pressed. I assume the two problems must be linked. Any thoughts on the cause?

Thanks.

I note 1300 views and no replies.

I would scan it with a home tool like ODBEleven, or find someone with VCDS, which is more pro.

But any off the shelf car scan tool will do, as you want to find out what faults, if any, and go from there.

I had similar on my ED30, the switch was all gunked up with the cleaning products it's previous owner(s) had used.
perhaps the switch is dirty, it's not in the best location.
Good luck!
