Title: Tyre decision
Post by: Hampshire rubber burner on 03 January 2026, 20:55
I have a 2023 club sport with 235/35/19  hankooks s1 evo3 tyres fitted from factory
Front tyres worn to 3mm tread depths
Booked in for remap for engine and dsg gearbox
What do u recommend much ps4s or pirelli pz5 tyres or maybe goodyear super sports

PS4/PS5 whatever’s cheaper. Both excellent tyres. I found the PZs to be good in the warm and dry, and pants in the cold. The pilot sports are great year round. The only other tyre I’d consider is possibly eagle F1 A6 if they were cheaper again.

Just bought a set of PS5’s in 19” to replace the previous PS5’s in18”. Didn’t bother considering alternatives as to me, a great all year round tyre.

Bridgestone Potenza Sport for me. I find them really good all year and they always rate well in various car tests.

My GTI came fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports from new back in Nov 2020. I changed them to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in Oct 23 when I replaced the 18" for 19" alloys. Good all-rounder with no complaints and even wear on all 4.
