Title: Estoril black - detailing
Post by: candywhite12 on 06 December 2025, 11:05
Any views on how best to cure the black Estorils?  First time i'm getting all-blacks.  My current and previous diamond cuts have been hit and miss, haven't really given them special treatment other than meguires wax.  Pic is from configurator as I'm expecting car delivered next month or so. Thought I ready myself tho

You mean you're not getting 'Fast Tire' tyres?

Best thing I could recommend is some ceramic coating for them to help keep them clean. Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour or Gyeon Rim are the ones I use.

When putting it on the barrels of the alloy, level the coating off so it's even and then don't buff it off should leave it on thicker so it will be a bit more durable, don't however do this with the spokes, face or edges as it will leave a rainbow effect and you'll see it.

Seconding Gyeon. Have it on my Estorils and it’s been fantastic.

appreciate it.  Will try to get my hands on one of these, steep price i see, they sell a 30ml bottle for over 50 euro down here. Any other special treatment mate?  got myself a christmas gift in the form of a Chemical Guys bundle, including hydroslick ceramic and butter wet wax.  Was thinking of applying both to the estorils along with the rest of the car.

Go ceramic rather than wax. Better and much longer lasting. I used Gtechniq wheel armour and very happy. The wheels just jet wash clean (with some Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel first).

was thinking both tbh.  far as i know, you can apply wax over ceramic for greater protection and re-apply in intervals every 2-3 months until the car needs ceramic coating again.  Would think that wax over ceramic would add extra layer of protection
