Title: GTI MK 8.5 Spacesaver Spare Wheel

It seems you can't spec a spacesaver spare wheel on a Mk8.5 GTI any more (Carwow, DTD etc.).

Any ideas why that is?

Could be a glitch with their Configurator, there have been others,  VW have them from time to time, best to ask your local dealership as they use a different Configurator I believe.

EDIT: just had a look at the VW uk Configurator and it’s still there. So must be a problem with the third party systems.
