Title: On the hunt for a TCR
Post by: annigti on 19 September 2025, 17:31
Hi guys as the title suggests I'm on the lookout for a TCR, is there any member on here who is possibly thinking of parting ways with theirs? ideally looking for a black or grey on with DCC and akrapovic exhaust, i know they are hard to come by just thought id ask on here.....

You might get lucky but there aren't many people with a TCR on here. Just sold mine but being white without akra you probably wouldn't have been interested anyway. Don't discount a non-akra exhaust, the original (for a gpf car) is pretty good with a nice deep sound. Neither will be particularly loud though.

thanks for that, aye its just a personal taste of mine, both exhausts are lovely and sound great....
im not too clued up with GPF stuff so is the akra got GPF and the original style doesn't on a TCR ?

GPF is standard on a TCR. The standard exhaust does sound good, my OH says she always knows when I've arrived to pick her up at a pub as she can hear it coming!

Best of luck finding the right car. I keep my eye on the market out of curiosity and at the moment it has really dried up (certainly for anything sub 40k miles). Last time I checked the dealer network had 1 black car with 43(ish)k miles.... They do pop up though just got to keep your eyes peeled  Whilst I don't think the akra has a major upgrade on sound over the 'standard', it certainly does look so much better

There are a fair few on Autotrader, looks like some have succumbed to being modified but this one looks clean and has a lot of goodies:

That is strong money. The wheel nuts and steering wheel are shocking looking mods, but the rest of the car is nice. Makes me think what mine is worth considering it also has a pan roof and pro nav over that car and nearly the same mileage.

Oh I hadn’t spotted those wheel nuts, terrible!! I retract this as an option, anyone who adds those might have added other nasty stuff ! There are a few others on autotrader mind.

First thing I check when car browsing is how many owners?
Set against the age and mileage I reckon, rightly or wrongly, it’s a good guide to how the car has probably been treated.

There is a lovely one for sale at APS in Brackley - a 3rd Black with an Akra.

3dr makes that cool. But by sound of description it sounds like it has no options at all... nearly £29k is a lot but that seems to be what they're all going for atm in that mileage round (27-35k miles). I still can't believe I got mine for 26 in March with 30k miles and loaded spec besides sunroof (which i wasn't interested in anyway). There really aren't many good ones on the market, let alone many full stop. Something will come up soon I am sure

I bought my Clubsport S from Ed at APS. He was great to deal with and the car was beautifully prepared. No affiliation. Just a happy customer.

yes heard good things about Ed from APS, may give him a call and see if any other TCRs are coming up for sale in the near future
