Title: Boot lid interior rattling
Post by: greencode on 14 September 2025, 14:06
Any idea what could be causing a rattling sound (not all of the time, more like when I got over speed bumps) from the tailgate plastic interior lid? I’ve jammed some rags between the body and plastic and that seems to solve the issue but not really a fix!!

Have you checked the bump stops on the boot lid?

Hi. Yeah, tested those and all good. I think I might dismantle the all of that boot plastic and reassemble, see if that stops it.

As you’re removing the plastic trim, it’s probably worth fitting some anti rattle tape between the reverse side of the plastic trim panel and the metal tailgate panel itself before you reassemble.
