hi there has anyone bought any Gti floor mats for the winter any links or photos would be appreciated thanks

I bought some of Ebay and they were so smelly I had to return them, I tried all sorts prior to returning them but the smell was overwhelming.
I know that's not much help, just adding my experience. In the end I just put the originals back in.

I managed to get some oem VW golf ones with my car.
I was looking at these for the MK7 but understand the front mats are exactly the same size.

Purely going by the picture on the listing, those are LHD.

The mk6 versions didn't smell

I’ve got a set of these ready to go in when the weather gets worse,

I had them included in the purchase of my previous Mk8 GTI, they’re pretty good quality and fit well, I just wish they were as high of a quality as the ones I had in my M135i, those ones were super thick and tough as old boots! Also never showed any signs of wear over the 17000 miles I had the car.

I bought mine here

Aren’t those for left hand drive vehicles? The OP (@mossy69) is UK based; their car will be a RHD Golf, so although genuine VW rubber mats with a GTI logo look great, they won’t fit UK cars.

those are very good quality. bought them directly from the dealer. I've been using them for about 3,5 years now. Perfect condition.

I’m a big fan of rubber mats; good durability, easy to clean and long lasting (I’ve found durability and lifespan of VW carpet mats poor by comparison - primarily the mat in the driver’s footwell).
I’ve always bought genuine VW mats for the VW’s I’ve owned as they’re a perfect fit (as you’d expect with the genuine article). I’ve found that many VW dealership parts departments will give a discount too if you ask; if you don’t ask, you don’t get!. I quite like utilitarian look of rubber mats so I leave mine in the car all year round.

I don’t usually go for rubber mats, but the carpet ones like said above don’t hold up well on the drivers side for a lot of my past Vag vehicles, they go in the heel area quite quickly. Additionally, a lot of work to keep pristine especially in winter.
I’m going to try and get some genuine mats, the ones carlosfandango posted above look great. I’ll try my luck with the dealer too, in there next month for a service.
