Title: Blue smoke on warm startup
Post by: Bal on 21 August 2025, 08:06
Hi folks, My 7.5 Gti PP as started to puff out a bit blue smoke which smells of fuel on a warm start up after the car as been left for around an hour or so, nothing on a cold start, car runs perfect apart from this on start up and doesn't smoke under load.
I've changed the PCV valve as a precaution but its still happening!

Any ideas?

Cheers

I’ve heard valve stem seals are common to fail and cause those symptoms

I was thinking it could be that. I've just had an oil change and the garage put 0w-20 oil in it, i'm thinking it's a bit thin so that's probably not helping.

Crikey that is thin must be almost water like,
