Title: Wireless apple car play
Post by: College on 11 August 2025, 20:13
Does anyone have a recommendation to change my current situation of plugging an iphone into the usb and wedging in the cubby to enable apple car play on my Golf GTi (Mk 7.5) to a wireless connection?
Any help appreciated as always, thanks in advance, Lee.

It's not wireless but to improve your current set up, I have a Brodit ProClip mount that clips on the centre console and then I have a short USB. I thought about the wireless route but like to keep it plugged in so it's charging as I drive.

Wireless ACP/AA is ok for short journeys, but you'll need to plug it into power for anything more than a couple of hours.

Nav is the most useful function and it kicks the bejesus out of phone batteries.

You also might find that charging and using nav might also cause the phone to shutdown from overheat on a hot day and a long journey.

Lovely thanks, got the one shown below in the link, very easy setup and will keep in mind the heat & battery drain when I go out for a longish trip.
