My gti clubsport is due 2nd service and last one on my service plan
Is it worth going for extra 2 services 2 x mots and extra 2 year warranty?
I manage a garage/ fast fit center so get cheap mots and can service it myself using gen parts
But on other hand I want genuine service history as it will keep car value I hope
What do you think

Hello,
Found an excellent independent VW Specialist who could service using genuine VW/OM parts, maintain the VAG service history record plus the attention to details during the time spent at the garage isn't time-pressured unlike franchise led dealers. My main concern however with my Mk8 GTI was if any Softwear issues arose past the 3 year point. After warranty visits to my main VW dealer regarding I.T. issues, if these continued past the 3 years i could be in for a large bill to fix as only franchised dealers can sort these issues out {against non-franchised}.
Happy to be corrected by other forum folk here on this fact. So for the sake of £30 odd a month I took the 2 year cover out.
Will only keep that going till Oct 25 as my car will be 5 years old then {still with only 34000!}. Some discussions going on about whether I will receive further "over the air" updates once that expires, but we live in hope!
Sorry for the protracted answer and best of luck with yours.

I'm halfway through the 2 year all in on mine and had service and MOT covered so far. Not had need to call in the warranty or roadside assistance, but it's there for peace of mind.
TBH my local VW dealer's customer service is terrible, so I'm not sure I'd take another one and will look for a VAG specialist locally for future work when the car will be 5yrs+ anyway.

Honestly it's worth it - one medium/large warranty issue and it will pay for itself - imo just not worth the hassle not having this in your back pocket.

I went for the All in plan for 2 years last year. When this is finished car will be 5 years+ and I will be changing it soon afterwards. I’ve just had first service on plan and nothing untoward thank goodness. I wouldn’t have kept the car without the plan tbh as a bit wary of issues. Mine is £37 a month.

I’ve got the all in on mine too, gives peace of mind and keeps dealer stamps in the book.

Worth keeping in mind VW usually run 2 deals a year around the all in, one around April/May, the other in November for the black Fri/Cyber Monday deals - for example i managed to grab my 2yr All In plan for £30.40pm end April this just gone
