Title: Who said a GTi isn’t economical?!
Post by: Beebopper on 18 May 2025, 19:48
Had to take a pic today, out on a local drive today with minimal traffic, it actually topped at 51.5mpg and went down a tad by the time I stopped. All in comfort / Sunday driving mode

I think my best was 55mpg but that was a long motorway drive with little traffic and cruise set to 60mph (it was during the petrol supply crisis).

Does show that its capable of it under the right condition.

You are not wrong, this was gradually creeping up and would have been more if I hadn't have stopped at the destination. Was also a hot day, aircon was on LO and blowing very cold, so that took some juice. Impressive...

Today however, I went for a blast and it's back to normal service, mid 20's

I like it when i fill up, and the range appears at about 450 miles. go on a long steady drive, and the range gradually creeps up. Last year whilst going on holiday the range reached 520 miles. But then next day on shorter journeys, it rapidly decreases!
