Hi Mate,

I had my white 7.5 2019 PP stolen yesterday morning off my driveway (absolutely devastated ) and will be on the hunt for a replacement (presuming it will never be found) ASAP - not really sure how long these things take but have a call with insurance later.

Yours is an absolute beauty - couple of questions, is it still for sale and how much of a rush are you in to sell as you mention moving into an EV in the near future, how near ?

Also if pos could you send some more pics and spec please?

Thanks a bunch.

Paul

Thanks Davo, I appreciate the kinds words.

Car still with me, it is on AT but I have only had traders interested so far.

Any feedback always welcome. Do people require some form of finance these days? Are cash buyers few and far between?

I am sure the traders will want some discount!

Loans are an option if you want a £20,000 car, around 6% APR, much much better compared to dealer finance!

I have had plenty of interest from the Trade but I would rather it goes directly to an enthusiast. I appreciate he may be willing to pay a bit more but I am not in an immediate rush as I decided not to go ahead with the Audi I put a deposit on

The car is still with me, I decided to pull the advert on AT as it was mainly traders or people telling me what they expect to buy the car for.

I am still looking for Q4 but after test driving a 35, I am now looking for a 50 model for more poke. The 35 felt very down on power

@annigti; Unfortunately, finding a good example that ticks all the items on your preferred options list might mean you’re looking for that elusive ‘unicorn’ car, so you may need to be very patient if you’re not prepared to compromise. We’re all different in terms of what vehicle spec we would ideally want - IMHO the standard mk7.5 GTI’s spec is pretty good, and if I was in the market for one there aren’t too many options I’d really want to add. I’d always rate condition and service / MOT history / mileage above a car having a specific option - or options.

I think the mk7.5, is seen by many GTI enthusiasts as the pinnacle of Golf GTI evolution; well equipped, very good build quality, great ride, handling and performance, reliable, and versatile enough to be the ‘right’ car for all occasions. The mk8 / mk8.5 might have a slight edge over the mk7.5 in the ride and handling department, but many don’t like its minimalist interior and have been put off by its history of software gremlins. Because of this, and based on some of the recent posts on the mk7.5 forum board, I think that many mk7.5 GTI owners are hanging onto their cars rather than replacing them, as finding something that’s equal to - or better than - their current car is proving to be very difficult. Assuming this to be so, then the number of high spec, well maintained mk7.5 GTI up for sale is likely to be relatively limited.

The Art Velours upholstery option in the mk7.5 GTI was quite rare, although personally speaking I’d be more than happy to settle for a car with the trademark GTI Jacara tartan cloth upholstery. As for DCC; if you’ve not already done so, IMHO it would be worth driving a mk7.5 GTI without DCC as you may find the ride comfort is perfectly acceptable in a non-DCC car. Additionally, from a maintenance point of view, ‘normal’ shock absorbers will also be considerably cheaper to replace than DCC shocks if / when they need replacing.

I hope you do manage to find that elusive unicorn car, but please don’t write off other good examples that might not tick all of the boxes on your ‘must have’ options list.

Good luck with your search, and please post up some pictures when you find that special car.

Apologies to @Redreels for going off topic :embarrassed:.

thanks for that buddy yeah its just about weighing things up and what options work best for you. Thing is a lad up the road from me has the unicorn car I'm looking for!! ive put an offer to him but yet to hear back from him, I'm just praying he accepts and parts with it!

only thing is that its on 75000 miles, can't win can we!

will be posting pictures of my previous cars, had a white silver 7.5 R as my last car, had a mk4 anniversary, now wanting a GTI which i feel has more heritage than the R and plus i like the red details!

again sorry for going off topic, its all GTI love
