Hi. It appears that on my MK8 GTI the rear screen washer only partially sprays water on to the wiped area; 50% of the water gets sprayed vertically down the screen outwith the swept area. I asked the dealer to check this when the car was in for a recent recall; they reported that the jet was adjusted OK, and that was the way the system was designed.
At the time i accepted this, but still find it strange that half the water is being wasted every time I clean the rear screen. Is there any way to adjust the jet? Turning to the left a few degrees would make all the difference and certainly clean the screen more efficiently.

I have this too makes no sense to me just needs pointing over to wiper area a bit more.
Thought it may be just my car but seems like sh!t VW design 😂

I believe that the rear jet is not adjustable, it is moulded as part of the high level brake light.

What a sh!t design if that's the case it should be in middle of wiper sweep not offset
