Title: Faulty rear parking sensor
Post by: Big Col on 09 April 2025, 19:00
Hello

my rear drivers side sensor is detecting a false positive. It goes red as soon as reverse is selected. The other 3 work ok.

Is it a bumper off job to check connections or replace?
If i take the rear wheel arch liner out does this give access?

Would a vcds scan tell me anymore?

Any advice much appreciated

Bumper off job unfortunately to check and replace. They can't be reached from the wheel arch. You can check individual sensors using vcds and measuring blocks  but never tried myself.

i feared as much :(

watched a youtube video today where the lights had to come out also before the bumper comes off. I think i'll be leaving it for the now.

If you take the bumper off, I would check the air vents and seal them up, stop future water ingress, see here:

I just did this and it stopped my leak.
