Title: Help with juddering, jerking, stuttering
Post by: Buxx6 on 28 March 2025, 22:54
I purchased a used mk7.5 gtd semi auto.
No issues noticed during test drive.
Car started to intermittently jerk when changing gears around 27-30mph, 15mins into the drive, in normal mode, for approx 30 seconds.
No issue for approx 2 hours after that, car was mostly in sport mode.
Issue resurfaced after switching back to normal mode. Car was driving between 55-65mph, lasted approx 15 seconds.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it easy to pin point the issue on this forum? Any help or guidance will be appreciated.
Many thanks

Thank you Watts. Hopefully I can get this issue fixed easily. I started the day so happy purchasing my favourite car and ending it so upset and frustrated.

I tried driving the car again today and it seems like the car is okay when cruising at 60mpg in D7. But if I accelerate, the gear drops down to D4 and the jerking is a result of the car making its way back up the gears. I read something about kickdown. Is this what is happening, can someone please help me understand, as I am a novice

Ignore thats. It’s happening intermittently even when not changing gears so I will get a full diagnosis
