Morning all,
I've been quoted £85 + VAT per wheel to refurbish my kerbed and white wormed Austin's.
Is this what people are paying these days for this work? The other option is a set of new wheels from somewhere like CM wheels for not much more.
My car is old now but I'm not changing it for the foreseeable future.
Any wisdom appreciated 👍

If that is diamond cut then it sounds very reasonable. I paid £85 to have a wheel powdercoated about two years ago.
I like originality so in your shoes I'd get them refurbed and not go for a set of CM wheels.

Amazingly low quote.
Just satisfy yourself on the process and quality.
But difficult to quibble at that price.

I can remember figures of £120 plus VAT per wheel being quoted on forums for a good quality refurb of 18” diamond cut alloys a few years ago, so £85 +VAT does sound remarkably good value. Some places apply an additional charge to remove and refit the tyres too.
As @P6GTD has said, just make sure you’re happy with the quality of work and the process they use. Might be worth checking Lepsons website (www.lepsons.com) as they are reputed to be one of the best for alloy wheel refurbishment, and I seem to remember they outline the process they use on their website.

Thanks all. Some interesting replies here which show my expectations regarding cost was a little off.
https://www.prestigewheelcentre.co.uk/wheel-refurbishment/ are the people who have quoted.
Lepsons are more at £560 Inc VAT.

Mine need major refurb. White wormed and nasty.
I'm going the powder coated route once I've sorted the other issues with this new purchase.

I got mine two tone powder coated rather than the diamond cut dine again was good option I thought

Lepsons are good, plus if you’re not in a rush, they have a van that picks up from businesses and will pick up from a private address, given enough notice.
