Evening all, just picked up a new 8.5 GTI Clubsport in Crystal Ice Blue on Warmenau wheels. Want to sort the stance.. what spacers do you guys recommend. Looking for OEM+ and no poke..

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Great car in arguably the best colour :cool:
Having spent 3 years with a mk8 Clubsport following on from a few mk7’s I think I’d go for either 10mm or 12mm spacers on the standard ET50 wheels.
I changed my Clubsport’s wheels to ET45 8x19 which is the equivalent of 5mm spacers, and there was room for a little more without looking a bit tight for clearance. The mk7’s rear arches were cavernous but the mk8’s are more streamlined so you can’t go too wide.

Thanks. Was thinking 12, maybe 10 front.
Anyone gone 15 on the rear without poke or rubbing? Won't be lowering as this is the daily. Just some spacers and some dynamic centre caps will do me (honest :grin:)
Two days in and loving it so far. Very nostalgic having owned a mk2 8v GTI more than 25 years ago. Have had a few hot hatches over the years and really impressed with the drive and out the box handling.

I’m with Exonian on the spacer sizes, 12mm ish would be the biggest I’d go otherwise you’ll end up with some poke, I’ve just fitted some ET44 8.5J wheels to mine which equates to around 12mm wider track on each side, you can see what it looks like on factory suspension in this thread:

Racingline do a 12.5mm spacer set with longer bolts here which are worth considering:

I’d also check with your insurers about having spacers fitted, some can be quite picky on this type of mod.
