Title: Water leak fixed - but now need to fix the rear wiper
Post by: 2007GTI on 11 February 2025, 14:10
Hi All,

I had the dreaded water ingress in the boot floor. I first tried to replace the pipe, but still had water coming in, so I went further as per this video and found water behind the vents. As per the video I sealed up with silicone and it's all fixed now, I hope!

I noticed a rear wiper fault before I ripped the rear of the car apart, but now it's bugging me. Upon wiping the rear screen the wiper will just stop in the middle of the screen and needs turning off - on and off to reset and get it to park.

Any ideas, dodgy motor perhaps?

cheers!

My wife's GTD had the same water leak around the vents and also has the same problem with the rear wiper. I ordered a replacement motor from ebay but haven't got around to fitting it yet. Fingers crossed that will fix it.

Easy Sunday morning job. Replacement motor appears to have fixed the rear wiper's erratic behaviour.
Wiper puller helped make this a simple task but I hate the noise the clips make when you pull the boot trim off.

I got a replacement wiper motor off eBay, same part number but marked Skoda, was £13.50 delivered, from a 2020 vehicle. Bargain. Fitted and working!
