I have had my new Mk 8.5 for 10 days - until this morning, all good. This morning (cold 2 deg start) 3 times on my commute in to work the car 'lost' all settings as I drove along - so the instrument binnacle reverted back to 'factory' setting (not my chosen nav view) the tone controls for the audio reverted back to their 'flat eq' setting etc etc ie like some sort of system re-set. Each time I reverted everything back to how it should be, only for the 'factory re-set' to happen again (as I was driving along) a few minutes later. Really annoying. Nothing like that happened in 4 yrs of owning my Mk 7.5 GTI PP. Has anyone else had a gremlin like this in their Mk 8.5 so far??

Had mine for 4 months now and not had any problems like that. Id does make a 'bong' on start up though and I can't understand what the bong is for, no errors anywhere.

I've had mine for almost four months as well and not a single bong or warning. Been rock solid which is a blessed relief after the Mark 8 I had. Fingers crossed

Carbon... Did the infotainment reboot? If so did you hear a double click sound?
-
Has it done it since the time you mention? Have you tried a soft reset of the infotainment by continuously pressing the power button for 10-15 seconds until it restarts?
-
Mine has all been good overall, with only a small issue changing the volume when using Carplay.

I had similar behaviours, dealer advised me to choose me as a primary user on the start-up, as without that the car is booting into the guest mode. I have no such issues since.;)

Ah yes! Now you mention this, it reminds me I had the same when I was unable to register as primary user when I first got the car, the dealer deleted my old car incorrectly which meant I couldn’t then use the current email as the log in for the new car, I had to register for MyVolkswagen again using a new account, all was well after that. However, the OP states that it is resetting in between ignition cycles which sounds different.
