Finally picked up my new baby yesterday and am so pleased
With her, never owned a GTI before had a polo when I was much younger so everything will be a learning curve. Kept her pretty much standard to save going over the 40k Tax bracket and have a few things want to do to her (new black alloys, black mirrors spoiler ext, possibly black roof section) but any help would be appreciated.
Currently looking for seat covers(rear so child seats don't mark) and a decent boot liner. Spent a fair bit of time setting her up last night some of the things Google helped with so I'm sure I'll need some advice.

Looks good :cool:. Interesting that your car’s is female; all the cars I’ve ever owned have been gender neutral :grin:.

Ever since a school mate had a white Mk 1, have always felt that white accentuates the best bits of a GTI. Nice looking motor.

Nice car enjoy. For boot liners either Hatchbag (expensive but very good uality) or Rhinohield. Also good, they also do good seat covers too.

For boot liners, I went for a DriveDen one, they do one that fits the boot floor in upper and one in lower postition.
Here's the upper one which I have, it's good quality and fits very well:

following for car seat covers for back of front seats sick of kids foot prints on back of seats lol!
Waiting on delivery of mk 8.5 wish went for the white now had picked urano out free colours(lease car).

Might be a daft question but what does variable floor boot mean, mine just seems to be fixed with a raised section near the rear seats. I have a spare wheel and the HK subwoofer so does that make a difference. Don’t want to buy the wrong sort of boot liner.

You have it in the lower level setting. Lift out the floor "tray" and slide it into the upper level, where it's almost level with the boot lip. The lower level isn't available in the R at all due to the rear drivetrain taking up the space.

There really isn't much difference between the lower and higher boot floor positions. I think mine has been in the lower position for all 4 years. It's only a centimeter or so if I remember correctly.

Ah no, it’s a lot more than that. Few inches at least. It’s still a small boot though, whichever position it’s in.
