Hello! Due to pick my 2020 PP DSG up later this week. Have been sent the VW service history print out by the VW main dealer I'm buying it off. I'm a bit concerned as the first service at 12 months old is described as 'Interval inspection '. The next was at 3 years old 'Oil service' at 13k miles. Am I right in thinking that it was potentially 3 years old before it had an oil change? It was on variable service initially according to the dealer but I would have thought 2 year max before oil change? Any advice much appreciated.cheers

Any interim service my cars have had, always included oil and filter change.
According to the internet:

It looks as if the car was originally set up for annual / time and distance servicing with servicing at the sooner of 12 months or 9,300 miles. As @sipj has said, the first service would have included an oil and filter change - assuming the service was carried out by a VW dealership. If the second service was at three years, it would seem that the previous owner switched from annual / time and distance servicing to VW’s flexible / variable service regime.
Under flexible / variable servicing, sensors will monitor the condition of the car’s engine oil and trigger a service due message in the instrument display when a service is due. I might be wrong but I think that under VW’s flexible / variable cars can go up to the sooner of two years or 18,000 miles between services.

The service history does not include any warranty items. repairs or recalls. Previously the 'myvw' app now discontinued did include this info if the dealership entered it!! and I managed to get a printout for my 2019 pp prior to purchase which was useful.

At year 3 it should have had the VAQ diff serviced.

Oh my goodness….. there are a host of opinions out there and on the forum.
My dealer insisted it wasn’t due until 80k but I asked them to do it at 5yrs/40k.

I had my LSD serviced at 3 years and again a few weeks ago at 6 years - probably OTT. Make sure the filter is cleaned as well.

Well it's every 3 years in the schedule - my dealer changed my DSG oil at year 3 by mistake when I had actually asked for the VAQ diff to be done - they looked very red faced when I pointed this out and they agreed it should have been done so they did it the next day.

All a bit of a minefield! Have contacted the dealer again and insisted on documentary evidence for all service history. The VW printout tells you almost nothing. In my mind, if it isn't documented it didn't happen. Fingers crossed

Mine was done at 13k miles first time along with DSG and at 29k 3 years later.

From my experience main dealers are good at telling you what you want to hear on the diff servicing, "yes it's been done" as part of a warranty repair suggested to me that it had not been touched, beware...

Eventually found out that the diff oil was changed at 3 years and again at 4 (I don't think they had a clue about S/H) Good for me though. I picked the car up today and absolutely love it; almost my perfect car. Dealer were hopeless with S/H queries. I've just discovered invoices in the glove box showing that the latest service was done by an independent. It is recorded on the VW system somehow and they have given me an Approved VW warranty. I'm surprised that they sell Approved used without VW S/H
