Title: 2019 Golf R, what discs and Pads to replace OEM?
Post by: Pchende on 30 December 2024, 16:59
Hi all,

After not owning a Golf r for long and with the rubbish weather finally spent some time today doing the essentials and noticed has poor a stated the front and rear brakes are in. There are lots of aftermarket stuff out there. Was wondering if anyone can recommend some replacement discs and pads for all around. I have looked and there’s loads to choose from. Whether i should stick with OEM or go to VBT etc

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

Just put Febi discs and brembo pads on my GTI. Working as well as the OEM items they replaced.
Carpartsinmotion on ebay, if you catch it right you can get 20% off

I replaced the standard pads and discs on our GTI PP with Textar items.

They work just the same as the original ones in terms of stopping and pedal feel, and were a lot cheaper than VW branded items.

Brembo are the OEM ones (or were) when I changed mine so I used Brembo again.

I mainly use ATE pads/discs although I think TRW used to supply some of the VAG group (TRW seem to have now been taken over by ZF).
